The Solution - MEMS microvalves from iACTIV have been engineered and assembled to inflate bladders to raise individual dots creating Braille characters. iACTIV fabricates microvalves through semiconductor manufacturing techniques (MEMS) This manufacturing technique allows the mass production of microvalves enabling commodity prices, and therefore potentially reducing Braille display costs dramatically.
